Holding Trump Officials in Contempt
Rep. Gomez speaks on the House Floor about holding Attorney General Barr and Secretary Ross in contempt of Congress.
In July, House Democrats voted to hold Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Attorney General Barr in contempt for refusing to provide answers regarding the Administration’s efforts to add the citizenship question to the 2020 Census.
I spoke on the House floor explaining my vote for holding both men in contempt for what the Supreme Court called a “contrived” reason for including the citizenship question on the 2020 Census.

Two Years of Fighting the Good Fight
Rep. Gomez speaking with constituents about how his office can help them navigate federal agencies including the IRS and the VA.
Two years ago in July, I was honored to stand by my family and be sworn-in for the first time as the Representative for California's 34th Congressional District.
A lot has happened since then and I’m proud to continue to fight for our community on issues like health care, affordable housing, climate change, and immigration reform.
I’m only getting started!

Investigating Child Mistreatment Along the Border
The Oversight Committee questioned Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan about the confusion and chaos along the border that has resulted in the tragic death of six children.
I witnessed the confusion and chaos firsthand when I visited the border late last year.
Watch my experience with this administration’s manufactured crisis.

Honoring the Life and Legacy of Henry and Barbara
Last month, Los Angeles lost two incredible individuals: Henry Lozano and Barbara Torres.
Both were fighters who worked to empower and give a voice to the underdogs.
I went on the House floor to honor Henry and Barbara by talking about their contributions to our community and to those they loved so dearly.

200 Days of Progress
In our 200 days in the majority, House Democrats did not wait to get work done. We passed bills that lower prescription drug costs, expand background checks, tackle climate change, ensure equality for all, protect DREAMers and TPS recipients, and secure our elections.
These bills – all of which help the American people – are currently awaiting a vote in the Senate. We need to hold Senate majority leadership accountable to their jobs and to the American people.
