Fighting for the 99.8%

We can no longer allow a structural power imbalance – one where billionaires hoard generational wealth that working families helped create – define our country’s values.

I introduced the For the 99.8% Act to expand the estate tax and address wealth inequality in America. Read more about by bill here as well as my op-eds in CNN Business and The Hill.

 Lowering Drug Costs for All

I voted to pass H.R. 3 – the Lower Drug Costs Now Act – in the Ways and Means Committee. H.R. 3 is part of House Democrats’ promise to lower prescription drug costs for all Americans.

Also included in H.R. 3 is my Language Access for Medicare Beneficiaries Act, which would require Medicare enrollment materials to be translated to languages beyond English and Spanish.

Read more about H.R. 3 here and read a previous letter I wrote in favor of expanding Medicare language materials.

Another Successful Telephone Town Hall

Congressman Gomez talks directly to constituents about the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Thank you to the over 3,700 people who joined me at my latest telephone town hall to share their thoughts about the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

We talked about House Democrats’ Constitutional duty to protect our democracy and hold this administration accountable.

Protecting Civil Rights in the Digital Age

While facial recognition technology can transform our lives, it also poses a serious threat to our civil rights, our liberties, and our safety.

Read my op-ed in USA Today about why I think we need strong oversight and regulations on this new technology.

In the District

Check out some of my favorite pictures from October and November! From joining CHIRLA in Westlake for one of their DACA clinics for DREAMers to meeting with Korean American leaders at a roundtable in Koreatown, I’ve been hard at work for you!

Top: Congressman Gomez reassures DACA recipients at CHIRLA’s immigration clinic that he will defend their status against what he believes are cruel attacks from this administration.
Bottom: Congressman Gomez speaks at KAFLA’s roundtable on issues pertaining to the Korean American community.
