Voted to Advance Articles of Impeachment Against Trump

Trump Impeachment Vote Total

On Wednesday, I voted to advance articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump because Congress has a constitutional responsibility to hold presidents accountable when they abuse their power.

President Trump has taken military action without congressional authorization, expanded mass deportations, raised costs through tariffs, and used his office for personal and political gain. Yet the Republican majority has refused to conduct meaningful oversight.

Impeachment is a serious constitutional tool, and it should never be taken lightly. I will continue using every lawful tool to defend our Constitution, protect working families and restore Congress as a check on executive power.

Marked Hispanic Heritage Month With a Message: We Are Not Going Anywhere

As the proud son of Mexican immigrants, Hispanic Heritage Month is deeply personal to me. Latino families have built businesses, strengthened our neighborhoods, served our country, raised generations of Americans, and helped make this nation what it is today.

And as Donald Trump, his administration, and ICE continue targeting immigrant communities, I want to make one thing clear:

We are not going anywhere.

Our families belong here. Our history is American history. No campaign of fear, intimidation, or mass deportation will erase the contributions Latinos and immigrants have made to this country.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate who we are, where we come from, and the simple truth that our communities are here to stay.

Slammed Pete Hegseth as He Faces Bipartisan Calls for Impeachment

Trump's Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has failed the American people, and now a member of his own party has moved to impeach him.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie introduced eight articles of impeachment against Hegseth, including charges related to the war in Iran and violations of Congress’s constitutional war powers.

I opposed Hegseth from the beginning because our military deserves leadership that respects the Constitution, protects our service members, and keeps the American people safe.

I will continue working to hold this administration accountable and make sure Congress fulfills its constitutional responsibility to oversee our military and protect the American people.

Voted to Prevent Energy Rate Hikes Caused by Data Centers

This week, I voted for the bipartisan Ratepayer Protection Act to protect families and small businesses from higher electricity bills as data centers expand across the country.

Data centers require enormous amounts of electricity and can require major investments in new power and transmission infrastructure. This bill would require state regulators to consider ways to make large data centers pay for the costs they create, rather than passing those costs on to everyday ratepayers.

We can have innovation and new technology, but we cannot allow working families to foot the bill for the energy infrastructure that powers it.

I will continue working to lower costs for Angelenos and make sure new investments in our economy do not come at the expense of the families and small businesses who are already struggling with high bills.

Sincerely,
