Standing up and Advocating for our Seniors in Koreatown

Kheir

I recently visited Kheir Clinic's Vermont and Mirae Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) centers to spend time with seniors in our community and talk about protecting their access to health care. I heard from residents about the importance of Medicare and Medicaid, and why we must fight Trump's cuts that put their care at risk.

Growing up without health care, I know firsthand how much it matters to have access to the care you need. That’s why protecting Medicare and Medicaid is personal to me. I’ll keep fighting to make sure our seniors can access the services they depend on and that no one in our community has to go without the care they deserve.

Helping Seniors Access Vaccinations in Chinatown

NAPCA

I welcomed the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) to Chinatown to help seniors with Medicare Open Enrollment and access free vaccinations. Since 2022, NAPA's annual events have provided nearly 4,700 vaccinations to community members.

As the son of immigrant parents, I know firsthand how language barriers can make navigating health care difficult. That's why I'm committed to ensuring our seniors can access the care and benefits they've earned, with information and services available in the language they understand best.

Connecting Residents With Care, Support, and Resources at Angelus Plaza

Angelus Plaza October

It was wonderful to spend time with our neighbors at Angelus Plaza for a community health fair. Seniors had the chance to check their blood pressure, get health screenings, and receive their flu and COVID-19 vaccines. I’m glad we could help connect our neighbors with the care they need to stay healthy and active.

I want everyone in our community to know that my office is here for you. If you’re having trouble with Medicare, Social Security, or another federal agency, my team is ready to help you cut through red tape and find the right resources. Don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re neighbors, and you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Sincerely,
