This week I led the Dads Caucus in highlighting the impact of Republicans’ Big Billionaire Bill on working families. It kicks families off Medicaid and SNAP, raises taxes on people making under $30K, and hands more tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. We hosted a briefing with press to ensure the public knows what's at stake and drag this assault on working families into the daylight where it can’t hide.

I offered 14 amendments to make America more affordable for working families and to show just how anti-working class the bill really is—my amendments would expand paid leave, make housing more affordable, and ensure billionaires pay their fair share. Every single one was rejected. But now Republicans are on the record, and they’ll have to answer to their constituents.

The Republican tax bill gives billionaires a $255,000 tax break every year — paid for by working families. It targets immigrant families with a new tax on money sent abroad aka remittances, makes college more expensive, and cuts credits that help people afford AC upgrades — just as summers get hotter and more dangerous.
