Dear Neighbors,  

When it comes to the power of an employer and the power of a worker, the playing field is lopsided. I believe in people's right to join a union. I believe in the power of collective action.  

That's why I'm proud to cosponsor the Empowering Striking Workers Act, a crucial piece of legislation that ensures that workers who exercise their right to collectively bargain and those directly impacted are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits after 14 days of striking.    

Strikes are an essential tool for workers to secure fair wages and better working conditions. Unfortunately, many low-income and hourly workers must choose between a paycheck and advocating for their rights.   

The Empowering Striking Workers Act aims to change that by providing unemployment assistance during strikes, allowing workers to fight for their rights without fearing financial hardship.   

By cosponsoring this bill, I'm fighting to level the playing field for workers and ensure a fair and just future for all.
