Dear Neighbor,

This week, I voted against Trump's "Big Billionaire Bill" and stood with working people and families. Their disastrous bill was written to steal from working families, shower trillions on the billionaire establishment and drown our country in debt.

Pushed back against Republican's Big Billionaire Bill

I denounced Republicans for their Big Billionaire Bill because it steals from the working class to hand huge tax breaks to the billionaire establishment that's taken root in Washington since Trump's inauguration. Republicans are straight up lying about cutting Medicaid and kicking millions of Americans off their healthcare, while increasing the debt $3.3 trillion just so they can give tax breaks to their billionaire friends.

Led lawmakers in demanding billionaire class pay their fair share in taxes

I blasted Speaker Johnson because this bill guts healthcare, food assistance, and student aid for working families just to give tax breaks to the billionaire establishment. I called on him to produce legislation that ensures that billionaires and large corporations pay their fair share, addresses the root causes of extreme wealth inequality, and invests in a strong economy where every American has the opportunity to create wealth and succeed. Even if we’re outnumbered in the House, we have to fight back.

Marathon all-night session at the Capitol fighting Trump's all-out assault on our communities

I stood united with my fellow House Democrats all Wednesday night, fighting back and sharing updates as Republicans tried to ram their disastrous Big Billionaire Bill through in the dead of night.

House Democrats won't be silent, and we won't back down. We will fight this bill with every tool we've got in the months to come. We'll make sure every American knows exactly who sold them out and who stood up.

Denounced the passage of Republican's disastrous tax bill

I voted NO on Trump's disastrous Big Billionaire Bill, written to steal from working families, shower trillions on the billionaire establishment that owns the Republican Party, and drown our country in debt.

This bill will deepen inequality and hollow out what is left of the American promise. But I didn’t fight through the night just to give up in the daylight. The stakes are too high. The damage to our neighbors is too real. And I remain laser-focused on turning outrage into action and this betrayal into accountability come Election Day.

Reflected on our nation's history and independence from kings

On Independence Day, I made it clear that here in the United States we have ZERO kings. 249 years ago, we won our independence from a king who taxed the people and suppressed their voice to enrich the powerful few. This week, Republicans committed the same crime — bending the knee to Donald Trump and the billionaires at the expense of the working class. Today, we find ourselves back where we began: fighting a wannabe king who thinks he’s above the law and above WE THE PEOPLE. Our founders risked everything for freedom and equality, and I will fight every day to keep our democracy alive.
