The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) plans to advance surface transportation authorization legislation later this year, building on H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, from the 116th Congress. The T&I Committee will formally accept requests for projects from House Members. Projects funded through the surface transportation authorization will be funded directly by the Highway Trust Fund, and they do not require a separate or subsequent appropriation.

Please note: A request submitted by Congressman Jimmy Gomez to the Committee does NOT guarantee the project will be funded.

Project Eligibility

Only capital projects eligible under title 23 and chapter 53 of title 49 of the U.S. Code are eligible for funding requests.
  • Your project must be sponsored by a public agency (not-for-profits should coordinate with a public entity that is an eligible recipient of federal-aid funds under title 23 or chapter 53 of title 49 of the U.S. Code);
  • Your project must be located in California’s Thirty Fourth Congressional District;
  • Your project must have demonstrated community support, and
  • Your project must have all other sources of project funding identified, including the non-federal match.
