Rep. Gomez and Korean Ambassador Watch Dodgers Seoul Series Together

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), who represents Koreatown in Los Angeles in the U.S. House of Representatives, hosted Hyundong Cho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United States, to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers play the San Diego Padres in their season kick-off series in Seoul, South Korea.

Joined by San Diego's Rep. Scott Peters, they gathered in Gomez’s Washington, D.C., office to watch the game. Ambassador Cho presented Gomez with a Dodgers hat with the flag of the Republic of Korea embroidered on the side, and Gomez gifted the ambassador and Peters Dodgers pins.

“I was honored to watch the Seoul Series with Ambassador Cho and cheer on the Dodgers at the start of what I anticipate will be a historic season. In addition to the ins and outs of baseball, we also discussed issues that are important to the U.S.-Korea alliance, including strengthening economic and security ties, immigration and supporting the Korea diaspora living in the U.S,” said Gomez. “It is such a testament to the strength of the U.S.-Korea alliance that the MLB season kicked off in Seoul. I will definitely be wearing my new Dodgers hat with the Korean flag around my district.”
