Stood Against Trump's Ruthless Immigration Policies

When a photo of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos being used as bait by ICE agents went viral, it became a symbol of the Trump administration's cruelty. I sat down with Rep. Joaquin Castro to thank him for helping free Liam and his dad, and to talk about how we stop this from happening again.

America has been lied to about who's in ICE detention. Trump's ICE and CBP aren't targeting criminals, they're targeting families and kids.

No child deserves to be treated this way. And if this administration gets their way, this is only the beginning.

Voted to End Trump's Dumb Tariffs on Canada

I voted to end Trump's dumb tariffs on products imported from Canada.

Tariffs are taxes. They aren't paid by foreign governments. They're paid by us, the American people. Since Trump took office, his reckless tariffs have raised prices for Angelenos on everything from groceries to household items to prescriptions.
Trump promised to lower prices on day one. But clearly, his tariffs have done the opposite.

If Republicans were serious about lowering the cost of living, they would stand with Democrats in demanding that Trump end his reckless trade war. Trump and his billionaire friends might not feel the squeeze, but hardworking families across Los Angeles do.

Called out Trump's IRS for Leaking Confidential Taxpayer Data to ICE

Trump's IRS illegally handed over the confidential tax data of tens of thousands of taxpayers to DHS for immigration enforcement.

Last year, a court blocked DHS's access to millions of records, but they still improperly obtained over 43,000 files. Let me be clear: your tax information is private. It is not for Trump, Kristi Noem, or ICE agents' taking. This isn't just an attack on immigrants. It's an attack on your personal information.

If they can weaponize IRS data against one group, they can do it to anyone.
