As a dad, my most important job is making sure my son feels safe, supported, and ready for the future. I know parents across Los Angeles feel that same responsibility every day.
But raising kids right now is hard. Our children are growing up with social media pressure, isolation, rising costs, and real uncertainty about what comes next. Too many young people are carrying anxiety and stress quietly, while parents are doing everything they can to keep their families steady.
That is exactly why I founded the Congressional Dads Caucus: to bring parents in Congress together around the issues families are actually talking about at home. Last week, we brought members and mental health leaders together to discuss how we can better support kids and families.
That also means fighting for policies that protect children in the world they are growing up in now, including stronger digital protections, a digital bill of rights for kids, and safeguards that help keep children safe online and offline.
No parent should have to navigate these challenges alone, and no child should have to struggle in silence. Mental health is family health, and every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, supported, and hopeful.
