Voted to End Trump's Reckless War in Iran

This week, I joined my Democratic colleagues and four Republicans in voting to end Trump's reckless, unconstitutional war in Iran.
 
This war of choice never should have been started, and American families are paying the price. Just this week, four U.S. service members were killed in Iranian strikes. Four families are now grieving the loss of their loved ones. At the same time, families across the country are facing higher costs as this conflict drives up oil prices, gas prices, and the price of everyday goods.
 
The price of oil has already climbed above $100 a barrel. That means Americans will pay more at the pump and more for groceries, household essentials, and other goods. At a time when families are already stretched thin, we should be working to lower the cost of living, not making life more expensive.

That is why I voted to end this war. The Constitution is clear that Congress has the authority to decide when the United States goes to war. Donald Trump is ignoring both the Constitution and the law by continuing this conflict without congressional authorization.
 
I spoke out when this war began, and I will continue holding this administration accountable until this war ends.

Convened the Dads Caucus for a Discussion on Reproductive Healthcare 

I also convened the Dads Caucus for a conversation about how Americans think and talk about abortion and reproductive healthcare through the shared values of family and freedom.
 
Each of us has the right to control what happens to our body, and our lawmakers and laws should protect those rights, not attack them. When Americans can make the decision on what's best for themselves, families can thrive. 
 
That's why I will continue to fight in Washington to ensure every member of our community has access to the reproductive healthcare that they need. 

Joined the Kheir Clinic for their Back-to-School Resource Fair and Giveaway Event

Before I left for Washington, I joined the Kheir Clinic for their Back-to-School Resource Fair and Giveaway event, where I was lucky enough to meet nearly 700 of our neighbors and hand out school supplies.

As a father, I know that right now, too many families across our community are feeling the squeeze of higher costs, from groceries to rent to the expenses that come with getting kids ready for school.

I know that this event was about more than just handing out school supplies. It was about making sure every child in our community has the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
