Dear Neighbor,

This week, I’ve been hard at work standing up for our values—whether that means holding the Trump administration accountable, defending workers’ rights, or fighting to protect your Social Security benefits.

Here’s a quick recap of my work this week:

👊 Grilled DNI Gabbard and CIA Dir. Ratcliffe on Signalgate

I grilled Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and other Trump officials for putting our troops at risk. They carelessly made war plans in an unsecured group chat—likely hacked by our enemies. Gabbard’s “I don’t recall” defense didn’t pass the smell test for me, especially after screenshots of the chat resurfaced.

I also asked if Defense Secretary Hegseth had been drinking when he leaked classified info because it was stupidly reckless. That clearly rattled them—but it was already a major issue during his confirmation. I’m calling for his resignation and a full investigation into Signalgate.

💼 Hispanic Federation National Legislative Summit

I was honored to attend the Hispanic Federation's first National Legislative Summit, Encuentro Nacional, which brought together over 150 community-based organizations to the nation’s capital. I spoke about our work to rename the Los Angeles federal courthouse after Felicitas and Gonzalo Mendez, whose fight to desegregate CA schools led to Brown v. Board of Education.

Standing with SAG-AFTRA

Hollywood runs on talent—on screen and behind the scenes. In our district, 33,000 SAG-AFTRA members power this industry. This week, I met with members fighting for fair pay, strong benefits, and the right to control their own likeness as AI grows. I’ll always have their back—and I’m fighting to bring production back to LA, where it belongs.

Social Security Town Hall

I also hosted a town hall focused on protecting Social Security from Trump and Republican attempts to slash the benefits seniors have earned over a lifetime of hard work. With more than 91,000 Social Security recipients in our district, let me be clear: I will never vote to cut Social Security—not now, not ever.
