I am excited to announce that our office is now accepting entries from all interested 34^th Congressional District high school students to the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. The United States House of Representatives sponsors this competition each spring to recognize and honor talented young artists from each congressional district across the country.

Los Angeles is home to a vibrant arts scene, and has long been a hub of creativity and talent. I encourage all high school students (9-12^th grade) who reside or attend school in our district participate. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside artwork from every congressional district across the country. Plus, the winning student will receive two airline tickets to Washington, D.C. for the national ceremony and ribbon cutting of the art exhibit!

The deadline for submissions is 5:00 PM PST on April 17, 2018. Please see the rules, checklist, and release form of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition for more details.

In addition to community professionals judging the top artwork, all the submitted entries will be posted on my Facebook page, where constituents of the 34^th Congressional District will have the opportunity to choose a “People’s Choice Award” winner. The artwork of the “People’s Choice Award” winner will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. office for one year.

I look forward seeing the incredible pieces of artwork that will be submitted by young artists across our district!
