Dads Caucus Chair Calls for IVF Protections

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), Chair and Founder of the Congressional Dads Caucus, released the following statement in response to Republican attacks on in vitro fertilization (IVF): “People across the country are seeing their dreams of becoming parents shattered because of Republicans’ intrusive attacks on their reproductive care, including IVF. Infertility is not just a women’s issue—in half of infertility cases, men are either the sole cause or a contributing one. It’s on all of us to speak out against these life-altering and punitive policies,” said Gomez. “For LGBTQ+ couples trying to have a child, hopeful parents struggling with infertility and anyone who is family planning, you—not a politician—should be able to choose if, when and how to grow your family. The Dads Caucus will continue standing up for reproductive rights and working to permanently protect IVF.” ### |
