WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) announced he is continuing his service on the influential House Ways and Means Committee after a unanimous vote in the Democratic Caucus supporting his reappointment. As a member of Ways and Means, Rep. Gomez will focus on lowering the cost of living by advocating for tax and trade policies that put working families first. “I’m excited to continue working on the Ways and Means Committee this new Congress to ensure our tax code works for working people-not the billionaire establishment,” said Rep. Gomez. “My role on this committee combined with my initiatives through the Dads Caucus and the Renters Caucus are part of my strategy to further policies that will address housing affordability and tackle skyrocketing child care costs impacting working families. While congressional Republicans have decided to prioritize tax breaks for billionaires and raising taxes on American consumers through tariffs on everyday household goods, I’m focused on helping working people afford rent and provide basic necessities for their families.” Background:
