Nine New Members Join The Congressional Dads Caucus

The Dads Caucus grows to 45 members, adding Reps. Cisneros, Conaway, Min, Olszewski, Subramanyam, Tran, Turner, Vindman, and Whitesides

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressional Dads Caucus Chair Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) announced today Representatives Gil Cisneros (CA-31), Herb Conaway (NJ-03), Dave Min (CA-47), Johnny Olszewski (MD-02), Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Derek Tran (CA-45), Sylvester Turner (TX-18), Eugene Vindman (VA-07), and George Whitesides (CA-27) are the 9 newest members of the caucus. The Dads Caucus now includes 45 parents in both chambers of Congress — including Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries — united in the fight for family-friendly policies.

“I founded the Dads Caucus in 2023 after bringing my five-month-old son, Hodge, to the House floor during the Speaker vote—a viral moment that highlighted the challenges working parents face,” said Representative Jimmy Gomez. “Now, we’re 45 members strong, and I’m happy to welcome Representatives Cisneros, Conaway, Min, Olszewski, Subramanyam, Tran, Turner, Vindman, and Whitesides. These dads have spent their careers fighting for affordable child care, paid leave, and the Child Tax Credit, and together we’ll work to make life more affordable for families everywhere.”

“As the father of 10-year-old twin boys, I’m committed to helping other dads and families across the country provide for their children,” said Representative Gil Cisneros. “Whether it is paid leave, making childcare more affordable, or expanding the Child Tax Credit, we need to give dads and families the tools they need so that our kids can have the best possible futures. I look forward to working alongside my dad colleagues to advocate for American parents and kids across the country.”

“One of the greatest titles I have ever received in my lifetime is the title of ‘Dad,’” said Representative Conaway. “I am proud to join the Dads Caucus and work with my colleagues to uplift the needs of fathers and their families. From expanding the Child Tax Credit to broadening paid family leave, together we will advocate for working families with one unified voice.”

"As the father of three incredible kids, I believe that we have a duty to pay it forward to the next generation so that they have the same opportunities that we enjoyed,” said Representative Dave Min. “That’s why I am thrilled to join the Dads Caucus, so that we can work together to build a better future for hard working families."

“My number one constituent is my daughter - as a member of Congress and new member of the House Dads Caucus,  I am excited to work on policies that make life better for the next generation of Americans,” said Representative Johnny Olszewski. “I look forward to championing legislation that lowers costs and supports working families, such as affordable child care, accessible housing, paid leave and an expanded Child Tax Credit. These are the kitchen table issues that we were elected to address.”

“As a father of two young girls and a newly elected Congressman, I am honored to join the Dad’s Caucus to address the critical kitchen table issues that impact families in my district and across the country,” said Representative Suhas Subramanyam. “Together, we will fight for policies that support working families, expand economic opportunity, and assure a brighter future for all our children.”

“As a proud father to two amazing kids, it’s an honor to join the Congressional Dads Caucus, a space for important discussions on issues impacting hard working families and a lot of fun,” said Representative Eugene Vindman. “As a Dad, there are little things more important than seeing your kids happy, healthy, and successful. The families of Virginia’s Seventh District sent me to Congress to deliver real results like lowering costs, investing in public schools, and helping hard working parents keep more of their money. I look forward to working with this Caucus to do just that.”

"As a father of two, I'm excited to work with my colleagues in the Congressional Dads Caucus to advance policies that benefit parents and their children alike,” said Representative George Whitesides. “From expanding tax cuts for working parents to increasing access to affordable child care, I hope all dads will engage in these important conversations."

The Congressional Dads Caucus provides a forum for members of Congress to push legislation that supports working families. Founded soon after the Speaker vote in the 118th Congress, the Dads Caucus is fighting for policy solutions that help working families thrive and make America more affordable—including creating a national paid leave program, increasing access to affordable child care, and expanding the Child Tax Credit to ensure working parents have the resources they need to provide for their families.
