LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Jimmy Gomez (D – Los Angeles) offered the following statement after the United States Senate voted to pass the GOP tax plan.
“Without knowing what was in their bill, Senate Republicans cynically conspired to scam the American people and passed their tax plan. The Senate tax bill shamelessly steals from working families to give the 1 percent and large corporations a massive tax cut while adding to the deficit. Even in the last-minute changes made to their bill, Senate Republicans couldn’t find a way to save deductions that working Americans rely on and continued their march to destroy our health care system. “If the Republicans think they can get away with their brazen theft without being noticed, they are dreadfully mistaken. The American people will do more than notice: they will remember, and then they will express their discontent.” ### |
