Washington, D.C. – In response to President Trump's executive order requesting every government department hand over information relating to citizenship, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) released the following statement:

“President Trump’s executive order shows the lengths in which he’ll go to terrorize our immigrant communities. With this action, President Trump has effectively weaponized federal agencies like the Internal Revenue Service against our constituents as part of his white nationalist agenda. As we look to the courts to strike down this order, my office will continue working with local and federal stakeholders to ensure our community’s information is secure and protect them against such an unprecedented attack."
