In order to open an impeachment inquiry, House lawmakers can either introduce a resolution or the House can vote to authorize an inquiry. The matter would then move on to the House Judiciary Committee. Of the 235 Democrats currently in the House of Representatives, 106 have publicly supported opening an impeachment inquiry, including 14 of the 24 Democrats serving on the House Judiciary Committee.
