LOS ANGELES – Today, the White House announced a list of health centers in California’s 34th Congressional District (CA-34) that have been selected to join the next phase of the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program run by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This program, established by President Joe Biden, allocates COVID-19 vaccines to underserved communities that have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. “Since his first day in office, President Biden has done everything in his power to vaccinate all Americans and put an end to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Congressman Jimmy Gomez. “While mass vaccination sites are an important piece of the puzzle – particularly the super site my office worked to bring to Cal State LA – community health centers have also played a critical role in addressing this public health crisis. These local facilities have long served the most vulnerable Angelenos and are using their resources and position in the community to help implement an equitable COVID-19 vaccination plan. I’d like to extend my appreciation to these community health centers for continuing to serve all of our residents during this turbulent period, as well as President Biden’s leadership in helping us secure healthy and prosperous outcomes for everyone who calls California’s 34th District home.” The following clinics in CA-34 were selected to participate:
Two other local health centers – AltaMed and JWCH – were selected to participate in the first-round of the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program. |
