WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D – Los Angeles) issued the following statement indicating his intention to vote ‘no’ on the latest budget bill.

“For the sake of America’s DREAMers and our country, I will vote against the budget bill when it comes up for a vote. Despite agreeing to raise spending caps for two years, this deal fails to provide true parity between military and domestic spending. In addition, this funding bill proves that even with control of all three branches of government, Republicans are incapable of finding a true long-term solution to fund our government or keep their promise to protect DREAMers. As President Trump’s self-imposed DACA deadline looms closer and closer, our country needs a rational legislative solution that protects the lives of hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth, their families, and their communities.”
