Los Angeles, CA— Yesterday, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) invited high school students and their families to Inner City Arts to announce the winners of his 2018 Congressional Art Competition.
“Art has the unique ability to help us express both our shared values and our most intimate experiences,” saidCongressman Gomez. “I was profoundly impressed with this year’s submissions as well as the students who created them. I’d like to congratulate all who participated and encourage them to continue honing their skills and expanding their creative horizons."
Established in 1982, the Congressional Art Competition is a time-honored tradition that recognizes the talent and creativity of young people across the country. The winners will have the distinction of having their artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel at the United States Capitol for one year and will be featured on the Congressional Art Competition website.

People’s Choice Winner: Nataly Galdamez, 12th grade
