Gomez Statement on the Hostage Release in Gaza

LOS ANGELES, CA —Today Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) released the following statement: “I called for a cessation of hostilities weeks ago to bring this conflict to a stop, allow for the safe release of hostages, let humanitarian aid into the region, and prevent more needless deaths of civilians. Now, I welcome this negotiated temporary ceasefire and believe it should be made long-term once all remaining hostages are released. Additionally, the Hamas leaders who planned the October 7th terrorist attack still must be held accountable for the premeditated and deliberate atrocities committed against civilians, including seniors, women, children, and infants. We must do all possible to protect innocent lives, rebuild after this violence, and finally make good on the promise of a lasting two-state solution.” ### |
