Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) announced that Eric T. Harris has joined his Washington office as Communications Director.

"Eric's experience on Capitol Hill, combined with his unique and extensive background in political communications, will be a valuable addition to our team," said Congressman Jimmy Gomez. "I am happy to welcome Eric to our office and look forward to working with him as we serve the people of California's 34th Congressional District."

Harris previously served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-04) from 2014 to 2018. During that time, he led an array of professional development workshops for staffers on the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and the Democratic Communicators Network. Prior to his time in congress, he worked as a media and public affairs strategist for corporate clients, nonprofit organizations, political campaigns, and cause-oriented initiatives.

Harris is a NBC News THINK contributor and sits on the Board of Directors of the Global Campaign for Education (U.S. chapter). He is a graduate of UCLA and a native of Calabasas, CA.
