Los Angeles, CA – Congressman Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) hosted a telephone town hall with over 9,800 constituents to discuss how he’s fighting back against the Trump administration’s latest actions—including Trump’s executive overreach, Elon Musk’s growing control over Americans’ personal information, Trump’s ICE raids targeting immigrant communities in LA—and his own policies to support working families and that lower the cost of everyday necessities like housing and groceries. “I hosted this telephone town hall because my constituents are outraged—and rightfully so,” said Rep. Jimmy Gomez. “Trump is doubling down on his reckless agenda, stealing taxpayer dollars from working families to hand out even more tax breaks to billionaires. While he sells out everyday Americans, I’m fighting on all fronts to protect them—taking action to lower costs, stop his abuse of power, and defend hard-earned benefits. Whether through lawsuits, legislation, oversight, or mobilization, I won’t stop fighting for working families in #CA34 and across the country.” Trump is pushing tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy while defunding programs that support Latino, AANHPI, and Black communities, gutting education, labor and consumer protection federal agencies, and granting DOGE access to sensitive taxpayer data. For over an hour, Congressman Gomez engaged directly with constituents and addressed their concerns regarding Trump putting billionaires and corporate interests over everyday Americans.
Rep. Gomez also outlined litigation he supports to stop Trump’s unlawful actions. Over 55 lawsuits in seven states and 10 judicial districts are challenging Trump’s executive orders, with courts already blocking:
