WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D - Los Angeles) issued the following statement following the release of the Republican tax reform framework released today: “This proposal confirms that Republicans plan to handout massive tax breaks to their wealthiest friends at the expense of middle-class and working families. Any apparent economic boost is an illusion, shattered by the resulting deep cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. There is no question that overhauling our nation’s tax system would greatly benefit our economy, but any reform must support working families, grow the economy, and help create good paying jobs.” ### |
