U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez, whose district includes most of the Eastside, inspected an immigration detention center Downtown on Friday. He said detainees were sleeping on the floor in "tanks" holding up to around 40 people. Though the facility was not over capacity, it "isn’t set up to hold people for over 12 hours," Gomez said.
