Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) issued the following on committee assignments for the 115th Congress. Gomez will serve on the Natural Resources Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Rep. Gomez on his appointment to the Natural Resources Committee:

“For decades, Californians have been at the forefront of conservation and environmental policies. Whether it is tackling climate change, investing in clean energy, or working to repeal Big Oil subsidies, communities across my district have made it resoundingly clear that protecting our environment and public health, especially for the most vulnerable, is their top priority. They want Congress to focus on leaving our planet better off for the next generation, and help create good-paying, green jobs in the process. I stand ready to fight to protect our natural resources, wildlife and public lands and help working families get ahead.”
