VIDEO TRANSCRIPT (0:00-1:00; JG at 0:45): The end of the year is approaching quickly and the future of approximately 800,000 DACA recipients is still uncertain. Given this, a group of DREAMERS met with the Minority Leader from the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, and other Members to push Congress for the DREAM Act. “These DREAMERS make America DREAM again,” said Democratic Leader Pelosi. Pelosi reiterated that she has full confidence in Congress and that President Trump will keep his commitment to young people. She and her colleagues will not accept any negative terms, including a border wall. “We are going to speak to them [Republican members of Congress] every day, and it won’t be easy, because they are scared, because if they vote for the DREAMERS, then they will not win their elections” said Congressman Jimmy Gomez. |
