LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, as firefighting efforts continued at the Lineage Logistics fire in Boyle Heights, U.S. Representative Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) visited the incident site to receive the latest briefing from Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Battalion Chief Nicholas Ferrari, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD). Following the briefing, Rep. Gomez released a video update to keep residents informed about current air quality conditions, ongoing response efforts, and available resources. "While firefighters are making progress, this crisis is not over,” said Rep. Jimmy Gomez. “My office will continue working with every level of government to make sure Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles receive the resources, transparency, and answers our community deserves." During the briefing, officials updated Rep. Gomez on firefighting operations, air quality monitoring, and the deployment of additional mobile monitoring units throughout surrounding neighborhoods.
