Rep. Gomez Joins YMCA to Serve Meals to Koreatown Seniors
Los Angeles,
August 18, 2026
“Our seniors spent their lives working, raising families, and building the communities we call home. They deserve to know that their community will be there for them when they need us,” said Gomez. “Programs like this do more than put food on the table. They bring people together, help seniors stay connected, and make sure our neighbors are treated with the dignity they deserve. I’m proud to work alongside the YMCA and our community partners to support them.” The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles has served communities across Los Angeles County for more than 130 years, providing programs focused on youth development, education, health, and community well-being. Gomez has worked with the YMCA to expand educational opportunities for local students. In 2023, he secured $1.5 million in federal Community Project Funding for the Weingart East Los Angeles, Ketchum-Downtown, and Anderson Munger Family YMCAs to support Empowerment Learning Pods providing learning recovery and academic tutoring for low-income students. |
