Rep. Jimmy Gomez Statement on Trump's Transgender Military Ban
Washington, DC,
July 26, 2017
Today, Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D – Los Angeles) released the following statement: "This morning, President Trump conducted his latest policy roll out via Twitter this time assaulting our brave transgender service members. Although it remains to be seen how President Trump will implement this half-baked and hateful policy, the implication that 15,000 transgender service members could be discharged immediately is disgraceful. I cannot and will not stand for such bigotry. Every American, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be allowed the honor and privilege of serving our great country.” ### |
