H.R. 150: Grant Reporting Efficiency and Agreements Transparency Act


This bipartisan legislation, led by Reps. Gomez (CA-34) and Foxx (NC-05), streamlines federal grant reporting by replacing outdated documents with open data, increases transparency from grantmaking agencies, and reduces compliance costs. The House passed this bill in January 2019, and it was signed into law in December 2019.

H.R. 7351: Opportunity Starts at Home Act


This legislation establishes a new tax credit that supports affordable housing financed by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) in providing permanent supportive services to help vulnerable individuals and those with serious and long-term disabilities. This legislation reduces the influence of industry lobbyists on senior government officials and addresses the revolving door between lobbying firms and the government by strengthening and enhancing ethics requirements for federal employees. H.R. 6565: Emergency Ensuring Access to SNAP (EATS) Act


This legislation ensures that students who would otherwise be eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits but do not due to their student status, can access SNAP for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency.

H.R. 6028: Stable SSI Benefits and Housing Assistance Act


This legislation amends the income and resource exclusions for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility so that receiving relocation assistance mandated by a state or local government does not count against the recipient.

H.R. 5848: ASSET Act


This legislation, which Rep. Gomez co-led with Reps. Cox (CA-21) and Schrier (WA-08), eliminates asset limits as a means of eligibility for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and raises asset limits for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program.

H.R. 5052: Wage Adjustment for Veterans Enrolled in School Act

This legislation creates a grant program at the Department of Transportation (DOT) to fund projects that make transportation to green spaces and public lands and waters more accessible for critically underserved communities.
